Founded in 1997, The Film Consortium is a long established production, production finance and distribution company developing, packaging, financing, and producing high quality feature films. Productions include Hideous Kinky, 24 Hour Party People, My Summer of Love, The 51st State, Bugs!, A Christmas Carol, In This World, The Best Man, Clean, The Proposition, A Cock & Bull Story, In My Country, River Queen and the TV series Urban Gothic amongst others.
The Company has been associated with a wide range of films including five titles from Michael Winterbottom (24 Hour Party People, A Cock and Bull Story, In This World, Code 46 and Road to Guantanamo), Gurinder Chadha’s Bend It Like Beckham, Niki Caro’s Whale Rider, Pawel Pawlikowski’s My Summer of Love, Danis Tanovic’s Oscar winning No Man’s Land, Luca Guadagnino’s I Am Love, and Shane Meadows’ This is England. It has also enjoyed a multi-picture history with Ken Loach, including Sweet Sixteen, Ae Fond Kiss, Bread & Roses, Land & Freedom and My Name is Joe. The company scored consecutive Best Documentary Oscars with Man On Wire and The Cove.
The Company's activities are currently focused on the management of its Production, international and UK libraries.
